Couscous, Perfect Couscous : How to cook couscous

Couscous is a dish made of miniscule steamed balls of semolina flour from North Africa. Though we consider it and cook it as a grain, actually, Couscous is a sort of pasta. It's one of your fastest, quickest, most flexible side foods. And with stews or saucy main dishes, it's especially nice. You can note some difference in the proposed proportions of liquid to couscous, depending on which brand you are buying.

How to make couscous

In a medium pot, begin by bringing the cooking liquid (preferring to a flavorful Chicken or vegetable broth). Attach olive oil, a butter pad, and some salt, then attach a drizzle.

Add your Couscous second. Second. (I've taken one to three quarters of the cup to one and a half cups of couscous)

Take the heat off the pot, cover, and leave a 5 minute Couscous steam.

The kernels appear flat in an even layer when you raise the cover. Using a bifurcation to flap and split the clumps into soft and fluffy couscous. Try to mix this Couscous with my Moroccan Chicken tagine for a typical Moroccan feast.

Perfect Couscous

Ingredients :

  • 1-3/4 cups low sodium Chicken or vegetable broth (or water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1-1/2 cups (10 oz) Couscous

Instructions :

  • Place the water , salt, butter and olive oil in a medium casserole. Remove from fire, cover the Couscous thoroughly with a lid. Enable the Couscous to boil for 5 minutes. Using a bucket to flap the cushion and separate both sides. Hot serving.
  • Coscous can be frozen for up to 3 months. Freezer-friendly instructions: Reheat it to the microwave when ready to be served.
