How to Make Sausage Cheese Dip
INSTRUCTIONS...
Using a serrated knife, cut a deep hole in the center of the loaf of bread. Cut deep enough to have a large "core" of bread to cut out and use for the dip, but make sure the bottom of the bread is still intact, to use as a container to hold the dip. Cut the bread core into pieces. Place the bowl of bread on a tray and arrange the bread pieces around it.
In a large skillet, brown the pork sausage over medium heat. Use a wooden spoon to break up the sausage into small pieces while cooking. Once the sausage is cooked, add the cream cheese to the skillet and move it around until it is completely melted.
Once the cream cheese is melted, stir in the sour cream, sharp cheddar and green chilies in their juices. Let the mixture bubble and melt. Stir until mixture is smooth.
Stir in 1/3 cup of chopped green onions. Pour the hot cheese and sausage dip into the bread bowl, then sprinkle the remaining green onions on top. Serve warm or at room temperature.
